Exhibition and Programs: Love Lace

The Love Lace exhibition shows the winning lace entries and finalists chosen from 134 artists in 20 countries who took part in the Powerhouse Museum International Lace Award.

Lace is usually linked to textiles, but in this exhibition, lace is any openwork structure whose pattern of spaces is as important as its solid areas.

Here you can see lace made from gold and silver wire, linen, silk, mulberry paper, cloth, horse hair, titanium and optical fibre used to create fashion, jewellery, sculpture, lighting and multimedia.
