Zoe' corner: Incognito - a new face

Would you like to change your identity?

Imagine if you could be another person or even an animal, and nobody would know it was you. You could have a different face, a different voice, a different personality.

Masks can make you a master of disguise. Mix and match other people’s noses, eyes and mouths to make yourself into a human Mr Potato Head!

- Feeling loud and rowdy?
Maybe you need some bushy eyebrows and a big mouth.

- How about an innocent moment?
A baby-face might be best for you.

- Grumpy and sulky?
A sad face and squinty eyes will do the trick.

- Like to be happy and carefree?
Find a smiley mouth and turned up eyes.

- And just for fun…
big glasses, a moustache or beard, crazy eye-makeup or silly coloured lipstick.

Step by step:

1. Roughly cut out each face from your templates or from pictures in magazines or photocopies from books. You can use faces of people or animals.

2. Cover the back of the template with stick glue and paste it onto cardboard.

3. Trim around the edges to neaten it up and securely attach a paddle-pop stick to the back with sticky-tape.

4. To make a stand for your masks, you can decorate a shoe box. Make small holes on the lid to hold your masks upright. Store masks inside too.

5. Pack all your masks in their box and take them to a party or out into the garden with friends or family.
