Make a mini space mobile
Print instructions & templates
Take a trip into outer space with this groovy mobile.
You will need:
2 x 25cm lengths of very thin dowling
4 x wooden or plastic beads that fit the end of the dowling ( optional
)
strong cotton or thin string
cardboard
craft glue stick
scissors
print-outs of templates
If you have printed out the Black linework templates to colour in,
you will need paints & paintbrushes, or textas.
Step by step:
1. For each space object, carefully cut out the front and back pieces leaving the small white border. Colour in if you have chosen the linework templates.
2. Cover the back of one side with glue. Position the two sides of each space object back-to-back but keep the top end open to put the thread into.
3. Position the end of a 30cm long thread between the back and front panels and press the two sides together.
4. Bind the two pieces of dowl together at the centre and tie tightly, leaving a long end of string to hang the mobile.
5. Tie a space object to each end of the two dowl pieces, and the final space object in the centre as pictured. Adjust the weight until it's hanging straight.
