Zoe's corner: Paper chase

Confetti, the paper kangaroo, hopped along the paper-trail looking for her papermate, Post-it the paper bilby.

"Hi Memo!" she said as she bounded past the paper-galah's paper gumtree. She stopped to nibble on some paper grass. "Have you seen Post-it?"

"Nah", said the galah, swinging on his paper branch. Suddenly Memo's twin brother CC landed in a flurry of paper feathers. "Big news", he squawked. "Post-it's been cornered by Bullclip the crazy cardboard tassie tiger - come quick!"

They all raced down the trail to Out-tray Clearing, where the big bully Bullclip had Post-it pinned to a rock.

"Another move and I'll give you a nasty papercut", growled Confetti. Bullclip took one look at the enraged kangaroo and crumpled, backing away from the terrified bilby.

"I've been framed!" he squealed. "I'm just trying to keep Post-it safe - theres a shredder waiting just down the trail. It's made a sticky-tape trap and I think its got a pair of scissors!"

Step by step:

1. Print out the templates. If youve chosen the black and white ones, colour in your animals using paint, pencils or textas.

2. Cut out the ear-pieces and glue them front to back.

Image of step 3

3. Glue the remaining animal pieces onto thin card, smoothing out any wrinkles using a ruler.

4. When the glue is dry, cut out remaining animal shapes with scissors. Carefully cut leg, wing and ear slots where marked.

5. Fold and slot the leg and ear pieces into the appropriate places. Secure with sticky-tape if you want.

6. Finish off by giving the bilby needs a tail - use a piece of string or wool.
